These words are coming to you from the center of a swirling blue ocean of resistance.
Feeling resistance is pretty uncomfortable.
All I want to do is swim away, swim awayyy! *Cue Shrimp voice from Finding Nemo*
However, if there's one thing I've learned about resistance, it's that “avoiding” the resistance will just have me swimming in circles. And I don't know about you, but my arms are tired and I'd like to get out of the water.
Underneath the resistance there is a gentle whisper telling me that she actually wants to let go. She tells me that resistance takes up too much energy and she's trying to convince me that it's safe to surrender.
But it's hard to believe her when the whisper sounds so far away.
So how do I swim through the sea of resistance?
How do I listen to the whisper telling me to surrender when the loudest voice is telling me to grip as hard as I can to what I already know?
Well, the answer is to swim with it. Lean in.
After being inspired by the new moon ritual I led this weekend, I created a short guided reiki meditation to help move the energy and release some of the gripping.
It helped soften the edges, and I wanted to share it with you.
FYI: Technically the full audio track is 10min long because I guide you through a little bit of grounding at the beginning, before diving into the energy work. Photo generated by a chaotic combination AI technology and my brain.
I'm doing my best to let this resistance be the portal to growth and change.
Letting the water kick up all of my old patterns…
Letting the swirling motion carry them away.
Resistance can be a great teacher if you let it.
Let the waters of resistance clarify you.
Let them reconnect you to your purpose.
Let resistance become the path to who you are meant to be.
